Project: Pilot Plant and Q C Laboratories

As part of the companies on going development, have designed and constructed a new secondary manufacturing Pilot Plant together with new QC laboratories for on going product development and quality control. The pilot plant is 500m2 with the equipment being 1/10th production batch size. The QC laboratories comprise four laboratories with a total floor area of 2400 m2.

The facility has been designed and constructed to EU/US standards and is fully validated. The GMP Group were appointed as Technology Design, Engineering and Validation consultants, and where asked to work with the designers, builders, equipment vendors and the client R&D personnel to ensure that the suitable processes where inputted into the project from concept design stage. The client had plans to develop a new manufacturing facility following this project and it was agreed that the client team would be trained by The GMP Group on this project and then transferred to the new production project.

The GMP Group carried out the Concept Design for the Laboratories and Pilot Plant and prepared the Technological Project (detailed engineering) to allow tenders and bids to be obtained for all equipment, laboratory fit out, HVAC, utilities, BMS and specialist water systems.

The GMP Group prepared the VMP, for the pilot plant and laboratories; this covered all equipment, facilities and utilities. The client required the pilot plant to be ready for the development trials and formulation of several new products prior to their introduction to the new production unit.

This unit is now fully operational and assisting the client in the development of new
products and formulations
